🌿 Meghan Markle: Affirmations for Those Still Standing

• I am still here, and that alone is a victory.

• What tried to break me did not get the final word.

• My spirit bends, but it does not disappear.

• I honor the parts of me that kept going when rest wasn’t an option.

• Survival is not shameful; it is sacred.

So I started paying more attention to her in Suits, before it was on Netflix. Back when it was on cable and I had to wait from week to week and then through season breaks. Ughhh. The dark ages.

I saw her on one of those CSI’s. She played a young lady who did something to her boyfriend that caused him to be dead…..All that was lost because the newcomer drew me in.

I remember thinking, “Who is that?” There was something deeply vulnerable about her performance that almost took over her scenes. Even from the regulars and I like their acting to this day.

See, I love theater. In love with it. Theater geek since I was a kid.

But, vulnerability is challenging for me. Meghan Markle walks right into it. She is willing to show the inner conflict in front of others. It sounds easy. It isn’t easy to do in an honest and humane way. It takes a high level of self trust. 

“Whatever happens, I will be strong for me. I will have the strength to carry myself through.”

So to see her walk the tightrope – the one in real life- of being vulnerable and steel tough at the same time is …exhausting. I hate that people refuse to simply leave her alone if they do not care for her. They can’t help it though. They are drawn to her. She’s a living magnet. Magnetizing people live challenging lives do they not?

Anyway, bullying witches and goblins aside for now…

• Standing does not mean untouched. It means undefeated.

• I trust the wisdom I earned by living through what I lived through.

• I am rising into a life that honors me back.
