She almost didn’t go. The weight of yesterday’s battles clung to her like heavy wet clothes. But she put on her shoes anyway.

On the walk, she saw the sun spill gold across the trees—the same trees she thought she’d never see again when life felt too heavy.

She smiled, a small, private victory.

“Look at you,” she whispered to herself, “still here… still moving.”
